Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
Last updated: April 15, 2026
At Dicta-Notes, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our transcription service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Audio recordings and transcriptions: When you use our service, we process the audio you provide to generate transcriptions. These may contain personal information spoken during the recording.
- Live recording cloud backup (when online): While you record with an active internet connection, the app may upload short segments of audio to our secure storage to reduce data loss if your browser tab closes or your device fails before you save. You can assemble these segments into a new saved session from the Transcribe page using Recover. When you recover an interrupted backup successfully, we delete those backup segments from storage. Unrecovered backup segments remain associated with your account until you recover them or delete your account, subject to the same security measures as your other content.
- Session information: We store metadata about your transcription sessions, including titles, dates, duration, and speaker information.
- Device information: We may collect information about your device, including browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with our service, including features used and time spent on the application.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain our transcription service
- To improve and personalize your experience
- To develop new features and functionality
- To communicate with you about service updates
- To monitor usage and diagnose technical issues

4. Data Storage and Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
