Tips for Better Transcription
Small tweaks, big improvements
- Use a good microphone, close to the speakers
- Minimize overlapping conversations when possible
- Close noisy apps/tabs; keep a steady system volume
- Do a quick test recording before important meetings
Troubleshooting
Common quick fixes
- No words appearing? Refresh the page and check microphone permissions
- No system audio option? Switch to Microphone mode or see the Video Meetings Guide
- Echo/feedback? Avoid capturing mic and system audio at the same time
- Lost a recording after a crash (while you were online)? Open Transcribe and use Interrupted cloud backup to recover if chunks were synced
Privacy & Saving
Your control, secure storage
- Recording starts only after you grant permission
- Your full meeting is finalized when you click Save Session (or when you use Recover to turn cloud backup chunks into a new session after an interruption)
- While you are online, short audio segments may upload in the background for crash protection (uses extra battery and mobile data when not on Wi‑Fi). Offline recording does not upload those segments until you are back online
- If an interrupted backup appears on Transcribe, you can recover it there; successful recovery removes those backup segments from storage
- Saved sessions and account data are stored securely with Firebase
